How can moles be treated?

Moles can show up anywhere on the skin, single or in gatherings. Moles can be round, oval, flat, or raised. They can occur singly or in clusters on any part of the body. Most moles are brown, but colors can range from pinkish flesh tones to yellow, dark blue, or black.

Moles can frame on any part of your body, including on your Head, the bottoms of your feet, and the palms of your hands. In any case, frequently they show up on regions of your skin that have been presented to the sun. Most moles show up amid the initial two many years of a man's life, however, some may not show up until some other time in life. 

What is a mole?

Mole as any dark spot or irregularity in the skin. Dermatologist use different terms for it. following types of skin marks such as these are not treated the same way moles are and are not discussed here:
  • Birthmarks(By Birth)
  • Abnormal formations of blood vessels (hemangiomas)
  • Keratoses (benign or precancerous spots, which appear after about age 30 years)

There are a few different types of moles:
  • Common moles are the kind most people have.
  • Atypical moles can turn into melanoma. These are the types of moles that crust, bleed, and itch.

What causes moles?
  • Sun exposure seems to play a major role in the growth of moles and may even play a role in the development of atypical, or dysplastic, moles.
  • Some moles are by birth. Other moles appear later in life.
  • The role of heredity is also a factor. Many families have a type of mole known as dysplastic (atypical), which can be associated with a higher frequency of melanoma.

HOW ARE MOLES TREATED?

This is a simple procedure, If your dermatologist believes a mole needs to be evaluated further or removed entirely, he or she will either remove the entire mole or first take just a small tissue sample of the mole to examine thin sections of the tissue under a microscope (a biopsy). If the mole is found to be cancerous and only a small section of tissue was taken, the dermatologist will remove the entire mole by cutting out the entire mole and a rim of normal skin around it.

How do doctors remove moles and skin tags?

Our doctor may remove a mole or skin tag in any of these ways:
  • Cutting
  • Freezing
  • Burning

Is there scarring from mole removal?
