Winter Dry Skin:
This is the most wide-spread winter skin problem, and it happens when already-dry skin is exposed to dry air or low environmental humidity (like in heated areas). Skin becomes itchy, chapped, red, or scaly. To soothe dry skin, use mild soaps with warm water instead of hot, and keep your bathing brief.
How does winter affect our skin?
According to Dr. Manju, “Everyone notices a difference in their skin in winter, no matter how small”, due to a drop in heat and humidity, as well as the dietary changes and hotter showers that typically come with winter. Skin can be less oily, fine lines become more prominent and dry skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis more pronounced. So it’s very important to take proper care of your skin in a winter season.
Winter skin care tips:
- Apply the petroleum jelly on the face, lips, hands, legs.
- Do not take the hot water baths. The hot water takes out the moisture in the skin then skin becomes dry. So try to avoid the hot and long baths in winter.
- Dry skin is the major problem in the winter. Use the natural moisturizer in the winter.
- Try to cover the most of the body with the clothes. Do not expose the skin to the cold air.
- Use the natural moisturizers like butter, oils, glycerin, etc., in the winter. Not to choose the chemical moisturizers.
- Try to add the vitamin A, vitamin E rich foods in your diet.
- Stay hydrated in the winter. Try to take the juices and drinks.
- Try to take the necessary diet in the winter. Try to add the fruit and fruit juice to your diet.
